Neuberg, Gore & Associates is seeking a leadership coach to work as an embedded, full-time team member with one of our fastest growing San Francisco clients to support mid-level managers. The startup plans to double their headcount within a year and has the potential to reshape their industry.

ABOUT US: Neuberg, Gore & Associates works solely with startups. The firm’s managing partners are Jason Gore and Bryan Neuberg. We support CEOs and their leadership teams in building the mindsets and leadership skills to scale their companies. Clients have included: Harry’s, Earnest, Spredfast, Teespring, Casper, Maker Studios, and next-gen companies in 3D printing, satellite technology, chip manufacturing, and drones. For more info about NGA, see Deck About NGA.

ABOUT THE ROLE: On the client side, this is an exciting opportunity to play an integral role in scaling a dynamic startup. On the coaching side, you’d be joining a premier coaching firm for startups and get career development from the firm.

This position starts off as a contract position and could become a full-time position. You will be embedded with this client for at least 9 months, if not longer, and then have a chance at staying with that client, or the opportunity to work as an executive coach with our firm.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an executive or leadership coach, ideally with some background in organizational development and conducting leadership 360s
  • 4-5 days per week onsite at the SF client office
  • Fit well with a startup culture focused on speed, execution, and excellence. You must adapt quickly, be results-oriented, precise, and understand how to iterate and improve processes

Responsibilities would include:

  • Coaching 25-35 mid-level managers who report to VPs or the company leaders
  • Supporting managers through difficult conversations or challenges
  • Using our proprietary tools and approaches to offer assessments, build leadership plans, and support managers
  • Identifying reading materials and other management training opportunities
  • Working with HR to support managers through complex people issues
  • Leading cohorts of managers to learn best practices from each other
  • Creating management resources and toolsets to use on an ongoing basis
  • Facilitating management training programs (or hire people that lead these programs)
  • Developing other company-wide people initiatives
  • And you will likely support hiring decisions, cultural initiatives, social projects, etc.

Throughout this project, you will be the client lead, working directly with the client CEO, COO, and HR director. You will also meet weekly with a managing partner at Neuberg, Gore & Associates to support you in your own development as a coach. You will be onsite with the client, but you would also attend the Neuberg Gore & Associates all-hands meetings and become a part of our team. We are a fast-growing coaching firm that is building a proprietary toolkit for startups and involved with some of the more interesting companies and challenges in the startup community (in our humble opinion).

On the client side, the company is committed to a culture of excellence and is looking for a dedicated coach to support them in building their leadership capacities and maintaining their culture. You will largely be working with millennials who are incredibly smart, move quickly, are results-oriented, and value excellence. They are all relatively new leaders, eager to learn, and wanting to bring their best.

On the coaching side, this project will give a coach with some experience a chance to radically improve their craft, have a consistent income, and learn a new set of proprietary tools and approaches that our firm continually develops. You would be actively involved with a managing partner of the coaching firm to tweak existing tools and co-develop new ones that build on our existing platform.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of coaching experience in the business world and is dedicated long-term to the OD/coaching path. Senior coaches with many years of experience would be very welcome to apply.

The project position would start as a 1099 contract with Neuberg Gore ($90,000 – 108,000 per year) and could become a full-time position with the client. There is some flexibility in how we structure this project, but it definitely requires 4-5 days at the client SF-office.
